Abstract

The purpose of this study was to characterize the offensive process in the elite male beach volleyball according to spike characteristics, attack efficiency and game moment, for groups with distinguished ranking positions, within the world elite teams (FIVB ranking, 2000). The present study showed that the most frequent and efficient attack is the strong attack (spike); we verified significant associations between type of attack and efficiency, between ranking classification and type of attack and between game moment and type of attack.
