Abstract


This article focuses the manifestations of youth condition in the context of initial training in Physical Education, noting how “being youngster” interferes with the construction of the academic itineraries of individuals in this course, and (re)configure their understandings about being teacher. Through questionnaires and interviews, it was found that this element supports different forms of (dis)engagement, linked to issues such as: meanings of Physical Education in the schooling; consumption; self-sufficiency; recognition; family.
