Proposals For Physical Education Curriculum In Pernambuco(Des) Understanding About The Sport

Abstract


This study aimed to analyze the perspectives by which sport was the topic addressed in proposed curricula for physical education in the state of Pernambuco in the period between 1989 and 2010. For this purpose we conducted a documental qualitative study, with data collected from official documents of the Department of Education of the State Government available in print and digital formats. All the documents were treated by the same categorial content analysis by theme. We can identify the permanence of the ideal object of study of physical culture, as well as the sports theme in all the examined proposals. Although the approach to the sport theme has not been the same in all proposals, but there is a great similarity. We understand that in most cases there has been an effort to present the sport in physical education classes not as a mere reproduction of the sport show, referring to a broader approach on this phenomenon. We also identified that these efforts have not always shown coherence between the intentions of the content organization and the methodology proposed.
